Ariana Grande is hitting pause on her music career following the release of “Wicked: For Good” and her 41-show Eternal Sunshine tour next year.
“The last 10 or 15 years will look very different from the ones that are coming up,” the pop star, 32, announced while on Amy Poehler’s “Good Hang” podcast Tuesday. “I don’t want to say anything definitive.”
“I do know that I’m very excited to do this small tour, but I think it might not happen again for a long, long, long, long, long time,” she continued. “I’m going to give it my all, and it’s going to be beautiful. I think that’s why I’m doing it, because I’m like, ‘One last hurrah!’”
Grande’s Eternal Sunshine tour, which will support her 2024 album of the same name, is scheduled to kick off in Oakland, California, on June 6, 2026, before wrapping up at the O2 Arena in London, England, on Sept. 1, 2026.
It will mark her first set of shows since the Sweetener world tour back in 2019.
Although the “7 rings” hitmaker said that “music will be in my life forever” during a chat with The New York Times earlier this month, Grande has now suggested that she wants to take a break to focus on her acting career.
“I spent so much time only doing pop music, but I grew up as a girl who loved musical theater and comedy,” she explained to Poehler.
“So I think the thing that will be best for my soul and also for my art and for what I’m giving myself to is if I’m chasing things that sort of feel just very right in the moment, even if it’s spontaneous, if it’s something different,” Grande added.
The Nickelodeon alum starred as Glinda opposite Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba in last year’s “Wicked,” and is set to reprise the role in “Wicked: For Good” upon its release Friday.
Grande has been busy promoting the upcoming film, and even made headlines last week when a crazed fan charged at her during a premiere in Singapore.
But the “One Last Time” singer has also had her hands full with several other projects, including next month’s “Saturday Night Live” Christmas special and Ben Stiller’s recently wrapped “Focker-In-Law.”
Set to release two months after her Eternal Sunshine tour wraps, the “Meet the Parents” sequel will see Grande star as the “ball-busting” fiancée Olivia Jones.
She opened up about the upcoming flick, and how she bonded with co-star Robert De Niro, during her chat on Poehler’s podcast this week.
“I spent yesterday doing burpees and high knees with Robert De Niro,” she laughed. “I’m like, ‘What is this movie? What are we doing?’ But I’m having a blast. It’s really special.”
